The establishment of KCPF can be traced to the campaign for the referendum on the New Constitution in 2010 which provided an opportunity for the Church Leadership and Christian Professionals to collaborate in formulating the Christian position on contentious issues contained in the Constitution of Kenya 2010. By providing their expertise in civic education, the Christian Professionals partnered with the Church Leaders in articulating the position of the church regarding matters Religion, Life, Family, Education, and Governance. It is on this backdrop that the Christian Professionals from all disciplines, denominations, and counties came together through the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF) to provide sustainable support to churches to influence the legal, social, and religious environment of our society so that it reflects Kingdom Values.
In 2020, KCPF celebrated its 10th anniversary. This was a major milestone for the institution and this event provided an opportunity to reflect on the milestones made, challenges faced, lessons learned and casting the vision for the future. The leadership outlined that the institution is entering and new phase and entering what it was called KCPF Version 2.0. This meant continuing with the things that were done and now commencing new initiatives that will help propel the vision and impact. There were 9 different initiatives that were launched among them was Africa Christian Professionals Forum (ACPF) – To be the premier Pan-African Platform to Protect and Promote Family Values at the continental level and beyond.
